Middle Park & South Melbourne Toy Libraries

Middle Park & South Melbourne Toy Libraries

Two branches, One Library

Members of both South Melbourne &  Middle Park  Toy Libraries will be able to borrow toys from both locations.

Up until now we have been running the toy libraries as two independent branches so members can only borrow toys from the branch that they had signed up to.

Opening up both libraries means you will have access to thousands of toys and more toy library sessions to choose from – all for the price of a standard membership.

Can you help?

We’re always on the lookout for more volunteers to assist us either in the library or on the committee so reach out if you’re interested.

It can be just a couple of hours here or there, or focusing on a dedicated project, or just one specific task like Instagram reels.

Member benefits

As an annual member you will:

  • be able to borrow from a great range of toys - dress ups, imaginative play, open-ended toys, sports equipment, puzzles, games and more,
  • have easy access to new toys to keep your little one engaged in creative play for a fixed fee which equals less than $11 per month,
  • be able to try out those larger purchase toys to see if your little one likes it before you purchase,
  • de-clutter your play space storage but still be able to easily rotate toys,
  • contribute ideas to new toy purchases, and
  • connect with your local community.

Volunteer benefits

Volunteering in the library or as a committee member is also a great way to give back to your community, meet people and learn new skills along the way.
If you complete 1 x 1.5hr volunteer session, your second year membership will only be $115.

Donations
We seek to minimise our environmental impact by reducing, reusing and recycling so we accept good quality donations. Unfortunately we cannot accept soft toy donations. Please contact us if you have any questions about the suitability of the toys you wish to donate.

Management
The toy library is managed by a committee of local volunteers who are elected annually at our AGM.
